Independent publishing company Inkandescent has signed an exclusive partnership deal with literary, development and production agency Viv LoveS Film. Viv Loves Film will represent all of Inkandescent’s non-publishing rights – including film, series, television, stage, radio and consumer products.
This catalogue of works contains a rich range of content championing voices from underrepresented groups with diverse themes. Included is FEMME FATALE by Polly Wiseman, a riveting black comedy about fame, failure and firearms. Wiseman imagines what could have been if Velvet Underground singer, Nico, unexpectedly encountered radical feminist, Valrie Solanas – Andy Warhol’s would-be assassin. The result is a clash of two female pop culture icons at the height of the swinging ‘60s battling for control of their own destinies. “Wiseman’s writing sears and burns” says The Guardian.
Also included in the catalogue is THE PALE ONES by Bartholomew Bennett. RAMSEY CAMPBELL, author of the Brichester Mythos trilogy describes this book as “An insidiously disquieting tale, flavourfully told. What begins as a dark comedy of book collecting gradually accumulates a profound sense of occult dread, which lingers long after the book is finished. It’s a real addition to the literature of the uncanny and an impressive debut for its uncompromising author.”
Further additions include Nathan Evans’ stellar tale, SWANSONG, as well as Justin David’s gripping LGBTQ+ works, KISSING THE LIZARD and THE PHARMACIST.
Regarding the announcement Emma Topping, Viv Loves Film Founder, comments, “We’re delighted to welcome Inkandescent to Viv Loves Film. We share the important mission of supporting works from underrepresented groups and I’m so excited for the bright future that lies ahead for this partnership.”
Publisher and co-founder of Inkandescent, Justin David, has said, “Inkandescent gives a platform to diverse writers: we bring underrepresented authors in from the margins to occupy centre page. And now, screen and stage. We’re delighted to partner with Viv Loves Film, and look forward to working with Emma and her colleagues to bring our unique but universal stories to new audiences.”
