The award-winning British independent publishing house Neem Tree Press has appointed Viv Loves Film as its exclusive representative for all non-publishing rights.
Shortlisted for the IPG’s Diversity and Inclusivity Award in 2023, Neem Tree’s catalogue stands as a bastion of culturally important storytelling, with crucial voices amplified from around the world. With stories for all ages grounded in mythology, art, dystopia, mental health, gender and beyond, Neem Tree showcases global cultures and empowers diverse protagonists.
Included is the mystery-drama NO FUNERAL FOR NAZIA by Taha Kehar, an enticing story that begins after famed author Nazia Sami posthumously invites six people, including a mystery guest, to a party in her honour. Over the course of an extraordinary evening, secrets are revealed, pasts reconsidered, and lives are forever changed.
Also included is THEY FELL LIKE STARS FROM THE SKY. In this illustrated short story collection, award-winning Palestinian author Sheikha Helawy celebrates the courage, resilience, tragedies and triumphs of Bedouin Palestinian women and girls.
Further titles include WAR OF THE WIND by Victoria Williamson, a Financial Times Book of the Year climate-thriller centred around a group of disabled children, and the upcoming cult-hit WELCOME TO DORLEY HALL by Alyson Greaves, a trans-thriller that asks; what if the only way to fix toxic masculinity were to erase it entirely?
Emma Topping, Viv Loves Film Founder and CEO says:
“As soon as Archna and I met to explore representation, I knew that this would be a wonderful fit. Neem Tree Press’ titles are exactly the stories that we want to tell,” says Emma Topping, founder of Viv Loves Film. “We stand by their mission to amplify storytelling from diverse voices, and we will continue our advocacy to see these stories told in original and authentic ways. We’re excited to see where the future of this partnership will take us.”
Neem Tree Press say:
“We are delighted to be working with the great team at Viv Loves Films. Em and Archna had a true meeting of minds at the London Book Fair, and we are confident that we have found the best home for our books. We look forward to leveraging our non-publishing rights on behalf of our roster of terrific national and international authors.”
